Visiting the Wynwood Neighborhood

Go to Wynwood to take a self-guided tour of the largest collection of street art in the world. Wynwood is covered with vibrant murals, the sides of warehouses that have been converted into studios are painted with motivational sayings, and even the crosswalks are decorated with artwork. (Note that while Wynwood Walls does need a fee for entry, the majority of the art in this area is free to view.)-

Movie night at Soundscape Park

Want to take the family to the movies? Every Wednesday at 8 p.m. from October through May, head to SoundScape Park at the New World Center in South Beach for free outdoor movies as part of the Soundscape Cinema Series. Enjoy a classic while seeing the 2.5-acre public park’s Frank Gehry design. This year, the American Black Film Festival selected the free weekly films. In addition, the park occasionally offers free WALLCAST Concerts where you can see the New World Symphony perform live on a massive, 7,000 square foot projection wall.

Visiting the Wolfsonian Museum

The Wolfsonian-FIU in South Beach also offers free admission on Fridays from 6 to 9 p.m. Residents of Florida and other visitors are eligible for free or reduced fares. You can visit the museum, which displays works of art and artifacts from 1850 to 1950, to view art exhibits, listen to educational discussions, and take part in unique youth and family programs.
